Seven Glencoe residents reported between Aug. 26 and Sept. 8 that their identities had been stolen and used to apply for fraudulent unemployment insurance benefits.
A Skokie Ridge Drive resident reported on the morning of Aug. 29 that someone had used their identity to try to open two credit cards in their name and change their address on file with the U.S. Post Office.
A Drexel Avenue resident reported that they paid $59 to a fake passport renewal website and provided their personal identifying information in the process.
A Drexel Avenue resident reported on Sept. 3 that someone had cashed an unauthorized check worth $2,982 from their account.
A Woodridge Lane resident reported on Sept. 9 that a thief had compromised their credit card account and cashed in their airline miles in exchange for $2,215 in cash.
