Scam: Anna Lane

At 8:38 a.m. Nov. 16, a resident reported that someone had hacked his email account and accessed his bank account. The scammer then proceeded to take $18,000 from his bank account. Officers are investigating.

Violation: Lake Road

At 6:32 a.m. Nov. 17, a construction crew was reported to be working in violation of the city’s noise ordinance. Contact was made with the crew and they were advised of the complaint.

Scam: Wolf Road

On Nov. 17, a resident reported that she had received a phone call from someone claiming to represent the Illuminating Company. The phony representative said the resident’s account had been sent to collection, but he could take her personal information and pay the bill.

The resident recognized the call as a scam and did not give any personal information to the caller.

The police department reminds residents to be very cautious about giving personal information out to unsolicited callers.

Scam: Parkside Drive

On Nov. 20, a resident reported that she had paid a contractor in March to complete a concrete project and that the work has yet to be done. Officers are investigating.
