NOVEMBER 13, 2021

 

Deputies responded to a cold domestic violence in the town of Akron. Upon further investigation, it was determined that no crime had been committed.

 

Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious person in the town of Akron. The party, Mitchell Shields, was found to have a warrant out of Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear. Shields was later transported to Bent County for housing.

 

Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in the 300 block of Ash Avenue in the town of Akron. Upon further investigation, deputies arrested Cory Grooms for harassment and domestic violence. Grooms was later released on a $150.00 PR Bond.

 

NOVEMBER 14, 2021

 

Jose Garcia Gonzalez turned himself in to the Washington County Justice Center on a warrant out of Washington County. Garcia Gonzalez was later released on a $150.00 PR Bond.

 

Deputies were dispatched to a semi-truck on fire in the 44000 block of County Road 43.75. Yuma Fire Department was on scene and extinguished the fire.

 

NOVEMBER 15, 2021

 

Deputies responded to the 6000 block of 3rd in the town of Cope for an unattended death. The coroner took over the scene.

 

Deputies received a report of a dog at large in the 200 block of Main Avenue in the town of Akron. The dog was taken to the pound and was later released to the owner, Ellie Mancha. Mancha was given a verbal warning for dog at large.
