SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ) — September is National Disaster Preparedness Month, and the Oregon Department of Justice, the Department of Consumer and Business Services and the Construction Contractors Board have prepared a new resource guide for Oregonians.

The easy-to read, 10-page booklet is available in English and Spanish and covers topics like working with your insurance company, hiring a contractor to help you rebuild, spotting and avoiding a disaster-related scam, and how to get help if you have been victimized.

The new booklet is designed to be shared electronically and in a printed format to community partners and local governments working with a community after a disaster.
