The Rhode Island Foundation has released is vision for spending all of the state’s $1.1-billion windfall from the federal American Rescue Plan. The foundation’s plan includes some of the same priorities that Gov. Dan McKee has endorsed, but calls for a truly massive investment in housing construction. Some other proposals, like giving $600 checks to all Rhode Islanders, and renovating the Superman Building, did not make the cut. 

The Rhode Island Department of Health reported six coronavirus-related deaths and 228 additional cases of COVID-19, along with 11,206 negative tests, for a 2.0% positive rate.
